The recipients list grows

The diving equipment collection has so far been a real success. We already have, in principle, all the items that the border guards requested. However, more items have been promised (and are arriving all the time), so we have decided to expand the circle of recipients. The deminers working in Odesa have also contacted us, requesting diving equipment. They are already being supplied by us with a mine-clearing vessel – a former diving support ship, which will also depart at the beginning of September.

The deminers have three professional divers who are currently using Soviet-era equipment. They have requested more modern gear, and the generous donations from Finnish divers will easily cover their needs as well. In addition, there was still enough money left in the mine-clearing vessel’s budget that we were able to purchase a used compressor for them, which I picked up yesterday (Saturday) from Rauma. At the same time, I also collected equipment from five different donors along the way. From them we received a total of five drysuits, seven tanks – two of which were doubles – two large dive lights, and much more smaller equipment. Absolutely amazing!
