After one week of collecting, we have already received nearly half of the requested material, with more to come. The incredible response from Finnish divers really warms the heart! We're starting to have enough fins and bouyancy devices (though we're still happy to accept BCs of the wing type, as these were specifically requested), but some other types of gear are still missing.
Among the smaller items, it's particularly waterproof bags that are still needed. SMBs and various lamps are also missing. And then there's the big problem - compressors. Compressors have been requested, both gasoline-powered portable and electric stationary ones. If you have tips on where we could find such items cheaply (or even as a donation), we are very interested to hear them.
Stuff. So much stuff!
Another piece of very pleasing news is that we have so far found three official partners for the project! These partners help us arrange service and inspections of the equipment that is donated, besides also donating a lot of items themselves. This is a great help as I myself am already very busy just receiving and reviewing the equipment we get. We are now coordinating to begin the service of the equipment that has already been delivered.
Finally, I would like to remind everyone that we also need support in the form of cash. Although we get discounts on the services, it involves a lot of equipment and servicing everything will cost at least a thousand euros, estimated. So if you can, please send some money to help with this! It's also very possible that we might need to purchase a compressor, but we will first investigate if we could find one as a donation.
