Underwater demining

Zero Line collaborates with the Ukrainian Navy Museum, which, due to the ongoing war, currently operates as a unit within the Ukrainian Army’s EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) team. Their responsibilities include mine clearance and the removal of explosive devices in maritime and river areas, as well as the recovery of deceased individuals. They are in charge of all sea areas outside the main shipping routes and power plants, which are usually located along rivers. Additionally, they are responsible for neutralizing explosives from sunken Russian warships so that these vessels can be used for museum purposes after the war.

In September 2024, Zero Line delivered the first mine-clearing vessel to Odesa. The boat was purchased in Finland, in Puruvesi, with the help of donations and was transported to Odesa with the support of the Finnish Ministry of the Interior and the National Emergency Supply Agency. Along with the boat, a significant amount of diving equipment was delivered, including oxygen tanks, wetsuits, drysuits, and other diving-related gear. Thanks to Zero Line's donations, the mine clearance operations are now significantly more effective than before—simply because their previous boat was sunk by Russia during the bombing of Kherson, and all their equipment was outdated Soviet-era gear.

We are now collecting donations to purchase a second, slightly larger vessel and additional underwater mine-clearing equipment. This will allow the operation to expand further out to sea and enhance efficiency by utilizing advanced technology.

The goal is to raise €50,000 from private individuals and organizations. If you donate €1,000 or more, you will become a member of the Zero Line Demining Club. As a member, you will receive real-time updates on operations through short stories, pictures, and videos. Once the fighting has subsided, we hope to organize a trip to, among other locations, the sunken Moskva warship, which is one of the sites under the responsibility of this mine-clearing unit.
